我が家の可愛い子ちゃん１人と１匹。

二足歩行の可愛い子ちゃんの方は家に居ないので、ついつい四足歩行の毛深い可愛い子ちゃんの方をジャラジャラ構いたくなってしまいます。

でも、うちの毛むくじゃらの可愛い子ちゃんは、抱かれるのが好きではないんですよね。

赤ペン先生: What are you doing? (Looking at me with the dog)
私: I just wanted to give her a hug and cuddle with her! She is so adorable and I can't stop myself from doing it.

赤ペン先生: Poor dog. You know that she is not a cuddly dog and she doesn't like it. You are smothering her.
私: Smothering? What is that?
赤ペン先生: Like this... (grabbing two pillows)

Smother means to kill someone by covering their nose and mouth so that they suffocate.

私: Hey. I am not suffocating her... though she does look like "please help. I don't like this."😅
赤ペン先生: You are smothering with love. Like XX (mothet) and YY (daughter). You know XX always cuddles and kisses her daughter YY and says 'we are best friends!' XX sounds like she will never ever let YY go anywhere because she loves her daughter so much.
私: Oh... I see. (Letting the dog go)

息苦しさを感じる程の愛って事でしょうか。

英辞郎では『溺愛』と言う訳になっていました。

英語では（ドラマや映画でも見た事がある、枕で顔を覆って）窒息させる感じの愛。

日本語は、漢字でも見て取れる様に枕じゃなくて、（お風呂とか？で）溺れて窒息させる感じの愛。

何か面白い。

うちのお嬢さんは一人娘ではありますが、私と娘（主人と娘も）は、ＸＸさん＆ＹＹちゃんみたいにベタベタした関係ではないです。

私は娘の事を『ベストフレンド』とも思わないですし。

でも、毛むくじゃらちゃんにはついついベトベトしたくなっちゃう〜🥰。

ってね〜。

娘への愛と言えば、今朝は夫婦で少し思い出に浸っちゃったりしてました。

起床前、まだベッドの中。

私: It's cold. Brrr... (holding his hand)
赤ペン先生: Haaaand... (imitating our daughter when she was little)

娘が小さい頃、添い寝をする際、手を握って欲しい娘が "Haaaaand" とたまにおねだりをしていた事がありました。

カワイイ思い出☺️。

私: Awww... Nostalgic... She was still small at that time. She is not a little girl anymore.

赤ペン先生: She is a young adult now. She doesn't even want to give us a hug. I still remember the feeling to hug her when she was little. Now she is skinny and so squirmy.
私: Ha ha ha. You spent so much time reading to her when she was small. I am quite impressed.
赤ペン先生: The bedtime story... yeah.. that was my parenting time for her. After a long work day, that was my precious time with her and I enjoyed reading to her.
私: Our not-so-little-anymore-little girl is coming back home soon. By the way 'Find My IPhone' app says she is 9km away from here. You know some run or jog 10K so she can run back home technically. But that distance is what... 直線（最短）距離で... so it's not definitely just 9K away..
