ブログ空白の２５日間、私は何をしてたでしょうか？😀

長い事怠けてました😅。
９月はたったの２回しか書いてないし、２５日間も空いちゃってるじゃないですか！
いかん、いか〜ん！
そして、実はこの時👉 ＤＮＣでのミシェル・オバマ前大統領夫人のスピーチから - ペリカン英語日記 から、完全に RuPaul Drag Race にハマってしまいまして、只今 RuPaul's Drag Race OD (overdose) 過剰摂取気味であります😆。
そんな訳で、シーズン６まで進みました〜。
RuPaul's Drag Race 観てる以外は何してたかと言うと、ま、取り立てて何もしていないんですが😅、小旅行へ行ったくらいでしょうか。
宿泊施設も見学施設もコロナ対策がしっかりなされていて、とても施設関係者の皆さんの努力に関心しました。
従業員さんは皆マスク、あちこちにハンドサニタイザーもあり（宿泊の部屋のアメニティには携帯用ハンドサニタイザースプレーも）、支払いは全てカード（鳥の餌でさえも小銭はダメよ〜と言われました。）、見学施設も中が人でいっぱいにならない様に係の方がコントロール、店の中へ入る時は皆マスク着用が義務付けられていました。
こうやって皆んなで協力して、地道に感染防止対策をしていかないとですよね。
広大なお庭がと〜っても綺麗で、お天気にも恵まれて、ゆっくりと散策を楽しむ事が出来ました。
季節的には薔薇のシーズンは終わりの方でしたが、ローズ🌹ガーデンには花がまだ残っていました。
私: Wow! I can smell roses. So lucky that we were able to enjoy roses around this time. Oh look! A busy bee🐝.
赤ペン先生: Do you know what busy bee means? Busy bee means someone who is always busy doing things.
素敵な場所で、ゆったりとした時間を過ごせた楽しい小旅行でした😊。
素敵なお庭と言えば…
👆これ、お友達の家のお庭なんですが、こちらも素晴らしいんです！
用事があり、娘も連れてお邪魔したのですが、庭でお茶を頂いちゃいました。
こんな場所でお茶飲めるなんて羨ましい。
手前は色々な木花エリアで、奥は家庭菜園エリアになってます。
ダイニングエリアからも良い感じにこの庭が眺められるのですが、毎日こんな風景見られるなんて、癒されるでしょうね〜😌。
娘はもうすぐ大学です〜、小旅行楽しかった〜、となんやかんやとお喋りしましたが、そんな中から一つだけある話題をご紹介。
私: Speaking of cars, guess how many cars I made a total loss. （注１）
友達: How many?
私: Two. And guess whose car I made a total loss? One is my father's and the other is my mother-in-law's!
友達: Whaaaat?! Two?! Oh my god!
私: I know. When I told this story to my other friend, he was shocked too.
友達: What did you do? How did it happen? Two cars?! I can't believe it!
私: I was about to drive off with my sister, but she forgot something at home and went back to the house. She took so long to come back to the car, so I left the car to check on her...
友達: Oh... You didn't brake..
私: Yep. And the sloped street was right next to the open space with a steep drop. The car started moving by itself and fell upside-down to that open space.
友達: You were lucky that you weren't inside the car!
私: But if I was in the car, it wouldn't happen!😅
友達: Ha ha ha. That's true. And how about the other one?
私: I went to my daughter's summer school to pick her up with my mother-in-law's car. I was always super careful driving with her car and especially in a different country. My husband often said "you are driving like a grandma! Drive faster!" But I suppose I was too careful and too slow to enter the school driveway. When I took a left turn, the pickup truck crashed into the right back end of the car. I still think he was driving too fast!
友達: How did your mother-in-law take this?
私: Actually mom was cool. When I was back home feeling so shocked and so terrible, she just said "you need a glass of wine." And this is how I learned what total loss means.
👆これが２０１２年の夏、私が事故って廃車になってしまった義オカンの車。
本当にすいませんでした〜🙏🙇🏻♀️🙏🙇🏻♀️。
保険会社さんから 「Total loss です。」と連絡があり、Total loss? Total loss って何？何なの〜ッ😱と、調べたら『全損』と言う意味で、頭が真っ白になりました。
注1）赤ペン先生曰く、
"Total loss" is the technical term of insurance companies. Instead of ' how many cars did I make a total loss?', you can say 'how many cars did I totally wreck?'
だそうです。
今でもまだこの事故は少しトラウマになってます😓。
もう１０月になっちゃいましたね。
今月は２５日間も空けない様にしま〜す。
