（難しそうな本（左上）も並行して読んでる娘ちゃん。）
"Pride and Prejudice" を手に、"To Kill a Mockingbird" を読んでいる私のところへやって来た娘ちゃん。
娘: I read 5 chapters last night.
私: 5 chapters! Wow! I am so jealous how quickly you can read books. I wish I could read like you.
娘: But each chapter is very short so only 10 pages.
私: Still unlike me you understand context without checking any vocabulary. Look at my progress. When I am writing down all the vocabulary I feel sad to know how many vocabulary I don't know.
娘: When I read "To Kill a Mockingbird", there were some words I didn't understand but I just ignored. And there are so many vocabulary that I thought I am not going to use again. Why are you checking every word?
私: Because otherwise I don't understand the book. And I need to know which word I didn't know. Dad said this is not a good book to learn useful vocabulary. But I started reading it so can't stop it now.
娘: Why don't you just write down useful vocabulary? Or you just check it without writing it down.
私: Hmm... But I think writing down vocabulary is a part of the process to memorize the meanings for me.
私が少しでも早く読み進められる様にと思って、アドバイスをくれた娘ちゃん。

内容的には面白くなってはきてるのですが、単語を調べずに読んだ頁はあったかしら…。（多分１頁だけ…😅。）
この本は２つのパートに分かれているのですが、もう少しでやっとこさパート１が終わるところ。
本題はパート２からなんじゃないの⁈
まだまだだよ…😣。
ああ…単語を調べずにサラサラと本が読めたら、そりゃ読書も楽しいだろうね。
（既にザッと６００語以上は調べてます😬。）
初めて出会う単語ならまだしも、二度三度と以前に既に調べた事がある単語を見ると、ああ…と正直悲しくなってしまいます😔。
読んでいるとたまに何だか惨めな気分になったりするんだよ、と赤ペン先生に話すと、

I think this is the first time for me to read a romance. This is totally a ladies' book. Now I understand why many ladies love this book.
Wait...maybe not. Come to think of it, I read "Eleanor and Park".
へ〜、"Eleanor and Park" って、ラブロマンスだったんだ。
ラブロマンスと聞いて、オバちゃん、ちょっと気になっちゃった😍ので、裏表紙の評価を拝見。
"sexy", "tender romance, "true love", "heartbreaking", "two misfits in love"... などなど女性読者が飛びつくような文言がいっぱいだよ😆。
う〜ん、気になるが、よそ見はいかんいかん。
早く次の本読めるように、"To Kill a Mockingbird" を読み終えるぞ😤！
