火事現場のやじ馬さん達

Jasmin と午後の散歩を終えた別れ際、反対側の道路の少し先に消防車、救急車にパトカーで何やら騒がしい様子。

でも、Jasmin は特に気にする様子もなく、そのまま逆方向へ帰って行きました。

そこは古いビルが壊された建設現場で、そこで火が上がった様子。

囲いがしてあるので何が燃えているのかは分かりませんが、幸いに大事ではなさそう。

それでも、前には人集り。

私は Jasmin と家族に見せる為に、ビデオを撮ろうかどうか迷ったのですが、まいっか〜、何か恥ずかしいし、面倒臭いし、この様子をちゃんと英語で説明したらイイんじゃないの〜と、止める事にしました。

私: When Jasmin and I were about to leave, we saw fire engines, ambulances and police cars in front of the site where the old building was demolished.

The building was completely gone now but the fire was inside there. 

Because the construction site was covered, I couldn't see what was burning but saw the tip of the fire above the cover. 

I thought about filming with my phone what was happening to show Jasmin and you later on but decided not to. 
家族: No, you don't need to. 
私: But I saw a few people were filming it. 
赤ペン先生: Do you know the word "voyeur"?

私: What? Bon voyage? Voyage?
赤ペン先生: No, "voyeur". You call those people who are filming voyeur.

私: 野次馬って意味ね〜。It sounds like French not English. 

赤ペン先生: Voyeur is a person who enjoys seeing something you're not supposed to, like someone peeking into a bedroom to see someone changing, so a bit like a pervert. Maybe this is not the right word in this case. You could say rubbernecker instead.

娘からは「フランス語由来と言えば、アンケートってフランス語って知ってた？」と聞かれ、「フランス語っぽくなくない？🙄」と言うと、「enquête」（フランス語発音）「おお〜、フランス語！」😆。

それにしても、野次馬ってこんなに沢山の言い方があるのね😀。
